Hello and welcome to St. James Episcopal Church in North Providence, Rhode Island.  We're launching this site in advance of Holy Week.  We hope you stop by often and make this blog your "go to" page for all the happenings in our parish.  You can also find St. James on Facebook.  For now, here's a copy of this morning's press release announcing our Palms-4-U Distribution and our Holy Week schedule.  Hope to see you soon!

North Providence, RI, April 4, 2014:  St. James Episcopal Church, 474 Fruit Hill Avenue, North Providence announces its Second Annual Palms-4-U Distribution on Sunday, April 13th, 2014 at 10:30 AM.  Led by the Reverend Canon Linda Grenz, Canon to the Ordinary for the Episcopal Diocese of Rhode Island, she and members of the parish will be positioned in front of and at intersections near the church to offer palms to passers-by that otherwise are unable to attend a Palm Sunday service.

“We are pleased to offer this to our community for the second consecutive year and delighted that Canon Grenz has agreed to celebrate Palm Sunday Eucharist with us,” stated Peter Bak, Senior Warden for St. James Parish. “We want our community to know they have a standing invitation to worship with us and experience our parish life, knowing they’ll be welcomed from the heart as Jesus Christ taught.”

Palm Sunday marks the beginning of the Christian Holy Week leading to Easter Sunday.  St. James offers the following services during that time.

April 13th:  Palm Sunday Service at 9:30 AM
April 17th:  Maundy Thursday at 7 PM.
April 18th:  Good Friday at 7 PM

April 20th:  Easter Sunday at 9:30 AM
